Workshop Presentation by Tim Matheney:
SGOs and NJ School Librarians
A 25-year veteran educator, Tim Matheney has served as Director of Evaluation for the New Jersey Department of Education since 2012. Prior to joining the Department, Tim served as principal of South Brunswick High School, which was designated a National School of Character in 2011. He has presented at the annual conferences of the American Educational Administration, the National Association of Secondary School Principals and the 2013 NJASL Annual Conference.

Informational Text in the Classroom to Meet Common Core Standards

Nonfiction children's author, Linda Bozzo, will discuss reading strategies for informational text. Learn how to integrate nonfiction books into your classrooms and libraries to support the new Common Core Standards. Linda is the 2013 NJASL Outstanding Author. 2014 Enthusiastic Reader Author Meeting and Awards Ceremony

Enthusiastic Reader Award Winners will represent all of the many students in New Jersey who value the joy and importance of reading.  Regional winners will be selected from North Jersey, Central Jersey, and South Jersey by a panel of school librarians. A total of nine students will be chosen; one elementary school student, one middle school student, and one high school student from each region. Winners, their guests, and the nominating librarian will meet with Author Linda Bozzo before lunch, receive complementary lunch, and participate in Ms. Bozzo’s workshop.
